Traveling Soon? Don’t Forget Your Debit Card Travel Notice

Vacation season is here, and whether you’re heading to the beach, the mountains, or just crossing state lines for a weekend getaway, there’s one small travel step that can save you a big headache later: setting a travel notice on your debit card.

When your debit card is suddenly used outside of Iowa or in unfamiliar locations, our fraud protection systems may flag the activity as suspicious. While that extra security helps protect your account, it could also result in your card being temporarily frozen right when you need it most.

The good news? Setting a travel notice only takes a minute and can help keep your purchases running smoothly while you’re away.

Before you leave, simply log your travel dates and destinations through your banking tools. You can even add multiple trips at once, making it easy to prepare for upcoming vacations, work travel, or weekend adventures.

How to Set a Travel Notice

In the Mobile App:
Tap Cards at the bottom of your screen, then scroll to Manage Travel Plans to enter your destination and travel dates.

In Online Banking:
Click Cards at the top of the page, then select Manage Travel Plans to add your trip details.

A few quick clicks now can help you avoid interruptions later so you can focus on enjoying your trip instead of worrying about your card.

Be sure to set your travel notice before you leave town and travel with confidence wherever the road takes you.
